A traveling outdoor concept-exhibition within the historical center of Braşov

2020 | Brassaï Square
2021 | HUB 2068
2022 | Mureşenilor Street

An original concept displayed in Braşov within the TAMTAM Festival, this traveling outdoor exhibition presents a selection of emblematic photographs for the architectural development of Braşov. The photographs are part of my album Brașov. Atmosphere, architecture and urban space (2015), an urban anthropology project carried out with the idea of closing an arch over time, starting from Brașov at the end of the 19th century and arriving in Brașov at the beginning of the 21st century, presenting photos taken in the present-day from the same places where the old photographers took their photos in the past. The photos of the past were selected from the archive of Brașov County Service of the National Archives, and those of the present were selected from my portfolio. The pairs of the twin photos of the exhibition are printed on OSB panels, a premiere in Romania, and are deliberately exposed without extended explanations, to invite passers-by to identify them live in the vicinity of the traveling exhibition. Among the visual expressions of my urban anthropology projects, this is a recuperative approach, a manifesto, a journey through time. The exhibition invites the visitors to (re)discover Braşov, its architecture and atmosphere in a space-time continuum, presenting it as a being that is ready to transform itself and yet it always stays the same.
